DockDrop Update

Full Review
What is Dockdrop? Drag any file or folder you want to share onto the Dockdrop dock icon then choose how you want to send it. Dockdrop uploads it and puts a URL for your upload on the clipboard, ready for pasting into an Email, chat program or website.
With the release of Dockdrop 1.5 come some much needed enhancements. Having the application close once it is finished doing what it does best is the number one feature in my eyes. This was a real nag in the last version of the software.
I use Dockdrop for uploading files I need to share with others to my personal server. Others may use it to upload photos or screenshots to their flickr account. The great thing about Dockdrop is that everyone can use it for something different.
Download your copy here (OSX 10.4 and 10.5 supported).

Ease of UseDrag and drop is about the extent of the "learning curve with this app. Finding your FTP info might be the most difficult task." |

PerformanceDockDrop does what it is suppose to as quickly as possible and quits when it is finished. It also uses a very minimal amount of system resources. That's great performance in my book. |

CustomizationI enjoy the bits of freedom the developer has given us to be able to move the uploader where we so desire, however I feel that there are more features that we need should be able to customize. I realize this is a simple app, but if you ask me it's too simple. |

I also liked the old icon better. I just copied and pasted it from the old one to the new application.
You can have sort-of automatic updates if you use AppFresh. It checks all of your applications using pretty much all of the mac updaters (Apple’s built-in, Sparkle, Adobe/Microsoft, iusethis.com, etc).
